Lyle Martin Addresses the group

Porterville College recently reached a significant milestone in our ongoing mission to provide a secure and supportive environment for all. On Monday, February 9th, the Department of Public Safety hosted two informational sessions in the SCCR to provide a comprehensive status update on our Campus Safety Assessment.

These sessions highlighted the extensive work and collaborative progress made alongside our safety consultant, Mr. Lyle Martin. As the retired Chief of Police for the Bakersfield Police Department, Lyle has brought a deep well of operational experience to our campus. His expertise has been instrumental in refining our safety strategies and providing valuable training to faculty, staff, and students over the past several months.

During the presentations, attendees received a detailed look at the enhancements made to our physical security and the evolution of our emergency preparedness protocols. The goal of this assessment was not only to evaluate our current standing but to ensure that every member of the PC community is equipped with the information and tools necessary to maintain a safe learning and working environment.

The turnout at both the 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM sessions reflected the strong commitment our faculty, staff, and administrators have toward the well-being of our campus. We are grateful for the continued support as we implement these vital improvements and look forward to the ongoing partnership that keeps Porterville College a safe place for everyone.
